The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (Multilateral Diplomacy of the EU) in cooperation with the Career Office, the Library and Information Center of the Athens University of Economics and Business, organized a Training Seminar, in the form of workshop on “Employment and International Mobility”, on Wednesday, 27 March 2019 (10.00-13.00 hours).
The seminar included lectures and presentations on institutionalized staff evaluation and selection procedures at the United Nations and the European Union. A representative of the European Employment Services provided the audience with information about opportunities for employment abroad with focus on the United Nations and the European Union. In addition, participants were informed in detail about internships and international mobility in private and public international organizations.
The event took place at the Derigny Amphitheater of the University (76, Patision Street, Athens, 1st floor of the main building), 10:00-13: 00 and was open to the public.
Professor D. Bourantonis, Deputy Rector of AUEB and scientific coordinator of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, inaugurated the seminar with a welcome address. Lectures and presentations were offered by:
(a) Dimitris Fatouros, UN Information Center (UNRIC) Officer, Brussels, who talked about ‘”Job opportunities and internship at the United Nations”
(b) Michalis Papagiannis, Head of Communication, EU delegation in Greece, who made a presentation on “Career opportunities in the EU institutions”
(c) Katerina Fleka, Labor Force Employment Agency, European Employment Services, National Network Coordinator, who talked about “Search for a job in Europe’ and
(d) Dr. Kleopatra Deliou, member of the staff of the International Relations Office of AUEB who made a presentation on “Internships abroad and a funding framework through the Erasmus + program”.
